OWNERSHIP:

The orchard is the property of Rugby Borough Council and The Friends of Dunchurch Society CIO have a licence arrangement to manage the property for the benefit of local wildlife and our community. It is currently most neglected and consists mainly of unmanaged spaces and 24 neglected fruit trees (mainly apple).

LOCATION: The orchard is located in the village centre at The Hall Close and is surrounded by an established built up residential area.

FODS PROPOSED MISSION STATEMENT FOR THE ORCHARD:

"To provide a managed space and facilities for village wildlife and the community."

The orchard will remain as a habitat for local wildlife and a centre for the community to learn about and respect managed wild spaces and wildlife.

VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT:

It is our vision to build a FODS village orchard management team for this project and recruit volunteers to help manage and maintain the orchard horticulture, wildlife and infrastructure.
